On October 29, 2022, the "Exposition Art de Vivre à la française", launched by Business France, was grandly opened at Pékin Manoir. French ambassadors, counselors, around 20 brand exhibitors and major media gathered in the manoir, and MaisonObjet Design Award China attended the opening ceremony as cooperation special partner to jointly start up this grand event in the Sino-French design industry.



Since its establishment 14 years ago, " Exposition Art de Vivre à la française " has spread its elegant footprints all over the famous international metropolitan areas as New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Istanbul, Riyadh, New Delhi and others. Since it came to China, the exhibition has aroused strong responses and has been successfully held in Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing and Shenzhen.

From October 29th to November 5th, 2022, Business France and Beijing Manoir are presenting the " Exposition Art de Vivre à la française " in Beijing. In the form of an art exhibition, it will showcase many top French design brands to the professionals and to the public from the Capital of China. On the opening ceremony, October 29th 2022, Nearly 20 brands such as Alexandre Turpault, Argile, Création Bignon Dervaux, Capdéco, Caudalie, Daum, Emile Henry, Eurocave, Haviland, Isidore Leroy, Maison Fragile, L'Atelier du Vin, La Manufacture, Revol, Objet de curiositéSabreTrécaWaterfall Audio have been exhibiting in this exhibition. The exquisite art works are integrated into the extremely luxurious French architectural style of Beijing Manor, which perfectly presents the romance and elegance of French art.

 
The France Ambassador in China, Monsieur Laurent BILI, said in his speech that the participating brands are all representative of France, and this exhibition will brings the new opportunities for the brands’ development in China, and provide a chance for professionals and the public who love French design to better understand these display brands.

Afterwards, the French ambassador, counselor, representative of Beijing Manor, M&O China Design Award director, and the brands representative cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony and jointly launched the "2022 Exposition Art de Vivre à la française ". The 8-day exposition officially started, and the invited guests immersed in the ingenious products of the participating brands.

"2022 Exposition Art de Vivre à la française " is concepted and created d by DMB interior design and architecture firm in France. The founder, Mr. Dominique Menvielle-Bourg, designed the exhibition in person. Centering on the theme of "La Nature Inspirante", through the exquisite scene setting and products combination fully demonstrate the profound heritage and diverse possibilities of French Art de Vivre. In addition to innovative design brands, the exhibitors also include the French century-old ingenuity brands like TRECA, as well as brands that have obtained the French "EPV Living Cultural Heritage Enterprise" label certification (this certification was initiated and established by the French government , in recognition of those brands "Made in France" with excellence and expertise).

The opening ceremony came to an end slowly in the flickering candlelight and the fragrant floral dinner. From the opening ceremony to the exhibition, all links are conveying the essence of French art and culture to the design professionals and the public in the Capital of China. In the world full of the art beauty, we witness the industry dialogue, connection and integration between Chinese and French design.

Adhering to the original intention of deepening design integration and creating more opportunities for designers communication, the next day, MAISON&OBJET Design Award China, together with JD.com and INTERNI, jointly held a sharing design meeting of "Design for Love". The meeting was held in Xishan Guan Sam Hotel, Beijing, with Business France as the support unit, and TRECA as the brand partner, and invited VIP guests from Dalian Polytechnic University, China Interior Decoration Association, China Building Decoration Association Soft Furnishing Branch, China Building Decoration 
Association Materials Application Branch and other partners. Numerous designers from well-known international and domestic firms and cross-industry elites participated in the meeting in different ways. Franck Millot, the international director of Maison& Objet in Paris, France gave a speech through a video to thank the partners and guests, and to look forward to the cooperation of all parties in order to discover and cultivate designers with passion and strength, to make valuable and meaningful designs, and to make our life better.

The Sharing Design Meeting is mainly divided into two parts: “Keynote Speech on Design Future and Trend Thinking” and “ Seminar on Design Internet Opportunities”. The guests started an in-depth exchange and sharing session around the multi-dimensional development opportunities of designers.


Firstly, Fabrizio Gurrado, the Italian designer and the founder of the Asia-Pacific region of IS Architecture & Design, shared the keynote speech "Introduction and Reflection of Residential Interior Design". Mr. Han Jufeng, Design Director of Environment & Art Design Branch of China Architecture Design and Research Institute and the Vice President of Material Application Branch of China Building Decoration Association, delivered a keynote speech "Design Capability and Future".

Afterwards, Tang Xiaoxin, General manager of Decoration Customization Department of JD Retail Fashion Home Business Group, and Liang Botao, Representative from Business Development Service of Home Design Department, explained in detail that the JD Designer Platform provides designers with all-round support and resource expansion, to help Designers create personal brand IP and create an ideal & valuable environment. In the final, Mr. Bai Xiaohui, Founder and Creation Director of Fengchao Pinshu Design Studio, shared his experience on topics such as industry digitization, design tools, and platform co-construction from the perspective of participating designers. This will help the platform to improve its services in a more targeted manner.

During the meeting, Mr. Wang Gang, General Manager of TRECA Greater China, as the representative of the brand partners, shared with us "Under the background of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the collaborative innovation between designers and technology has become a major trend in the global design industry", and expressed that TRECA, as a well-known French brand, is actively linking Chinese and foreign platforms to strengthen the design field interaction, carry out in-depth cooperation, and jointly create a number of new opportunities to empower the Chinese and foreign designs.


Mr. Lu Xiaocheng, General Secretary of MAISON&OBJET Design Award China, and Mr. Lin Zhenzhong, Academic Consultant and Master of Honor of M&O Design Award China, introduced the original intention and history of the Award. JD Designers' principle "break the circle of design awards, let designers break the circle, break the barriers between the design circle and the consumption circle, and explore the new power of the city" coincides with the purpose of the establishment of the MAISON&OBJET Design Award China. Both of two parties make the operation and will work together to discover good designs and promote the development of China's design power. Following this meeting, M&O Design Award China will start the  partner’s cooperation with JD Designers, and will provide a growth space for designers through the intelligent home design platform.

Since its establishment, M&O Design Award China, as an international award to promote creative and innovative design and life aesthetics, has created a broad high-level cooperation platform for Chinese designers by integrating multi-source resources in different fields such as design, art, culture, and technology; through linking Chinese and foreign design industries and institutions, the Award builds up an international stage for designers to showcase their design talents and artistic works.
